Here's what you need to know

Waxing is a method of hair removal that involves applying hot or cold wax to the skin and then quickly pulling it off, taking the hair with it. Here are some facts about waxing:

  • Waxing removes hair from the root: Unlike shaving, which only cuts hair at the surface of the skin, waxing removes hair from the root, leaving the skin smooth and hair-free for a longer period of time.
  • Waxing can be painful: While the level of discomfort varies from person to person, waxing can be a painful experience for many people, especially for those with sensitive skin.
  • Waxing can cause skin irritation and redness: Some people may experience skin irritation, redness, or bumps after waxing, especially if the skin is sensitive or if the wax is not removed properly.
  • Regular waxing can lead to finer and less hair growth: Regular waxing can lead to finer and less hair growth over time, as the hair follicles become weaker and less able to produce new hair.
  • Waxing should not be performed on sunburned skin: It is important to avoid waxing sunburned or irritated skin, as this can cause further skin damage and increase the risk of infection.
